#20 | Obedience Over Overthinking

Episode Summary

Thinking isn’t the same as obeying. In this episode, Mikel confronts the habit of dressing up disobedience as wisdom, and calls listeners to move with clarity and courage when God speaks.

Episode Notes

Sometimes what we call “wisdom” is actually fear in disguise. In this episode of The Daily Fox Fuel, Mikel calls out the Christian tendency to stall under the name of analysis, planning, or seeking counsel—when in reality, God has already spoken. He reminds us that delayed obedience is disobedience and challenges creatives and leaders to stop circling clarity. If God said it, move. This one will hit home for anyone who feels stuck between knowing and doing. Obedience > overthinking—every time.

Episode Transcription

We’ve all done it—disguised disobedience as wisdom. We say we’re praying about it, waiting on clarity, or seeking counsel. But deep down, we already know what God asked us to do—we’re just stalling.

Mikel makes it clear: analysis paralysis is still disobedience. You can call it wisdom, but if God already said “move” and you’re still circling the idea, you’re not being wise—you’re being hesitant.

Obedience is the mark of maturity. The longer you wait, the more ground you lose. So stop overthinking. Start obeying. God doesn’t need a perfect plan from you. He needs your yes.
